Insert Tag
==========

Inserts a new DICOM tag into the dataset. The tag can be inserted by clicking the |insert| button on the :ref:`dcmtoolbar` or by selecting "Insert tag' from the :ref:`editmenu`.See :ref:`dcmtoolbar` for editing DICOM files.

|Hint| The easiest way to insert a new tag is to copy the tag from another dataset and paste it into the insertion field.

|Note| Editing a DICOM file may corrupt it.

|Note| Currently sequence tags cannot be inserted.
